General Service Corps NCO Mess Dress - Female

General Service Corps Mess Dress - Female

Formal evening occasions for female WOs and SNCOs.

Description

ADR does not publish a General Service Corps-specific No. 10 pattern. Female WOs and SNCOs require a Corps-pattern jacket and a long unstriped skirt matching the colour of the male trousers.

A regimental-pattern cummerbund is permitted only when separately authorised by Corps custom; ADR alone does not establish that authority for the GSC, so none is included here.

Gender

Female

When worn

Worn by female WOs and SNCOs for mess dinners, formal evening functions and other appropriate evening occasions.

Jacket and skirt

Female Corps-pattern jacket with badges and rank as entitled; exact construction is confirmed against current unit instructions at fitting. Worn with a long skirt matching the male trouser colour and without striping.

Legwear options

Choose the existing skirt, dress or female-cut trouser outfit, or General Service Corps Dress Trousers. These are alternative outfits, not additional garments to wear together. Retain any rank, appointment, occasion and pattern conditions; select footwear and fittings to match the chosen legwear.

Buttons

Female WO/SNCO Mess jacket buttons are specified against current Corps construction at fitting. No 22-ligne shoulder-mounted button is automatically inherited from the superseded officer MK2 epaulette instruction.

Fittings & Lead Times

Measurements are taken and fittings overseen by Geoffrey Golding at the St Albans workroom, with each garment checked throughout the making process for fit, balance, finish and correct detail. Lead time is typically 8-12 weeks, depending on workshop capacity, fitting requirements and the date required.
