Description
Irish Guards Lance Sergeant and Above Mess Dress is the No. 10 Dress worn by Lance Sergeants and above for mess dinners, formal evening functions and other occasions where mess dress is ordered.
A Goldings commission comprises the 1939-pattern scarlet jacket, dark blue waistcoat and trousers, cut and fitted to the wearer with regimental lapel badges and rank insignia applied to the authorised pattern.

Jacket
1939-pattern scarlet cloth jacket with dark blue roll collar and dark blue pointed cuffs, without shoulder straps or buttons and without gold lace to the cuff. Regimental lapel badges and court-mounted miniature medals are worn.
Waistcoat
Garter blue superfine waistcoat with U front, lined black satin, fastened with four mounted 22-ligne anodised regimental buttons.
Rank insignia
As for No. 1 Dress, worked on dark blue backing.
Trousers
Indigo barathea trousers with a ¼" scarlet welt.
Shirt and neckwear
Plain white shirt with black bow tie.
Headwear
Blue forage cap with the regimental cap badge, worn where required by the order of dress.

Measurements are taken and fittings overseen by Geoffrey Golding at the St Albans workroom, with each garment checked throughout the making process for fit, balance, finish and correct detail.
